This week the topic for the Five Minute Friday link-up post is Weak. What is a link-up? Essentially a link-up is when you join other bloggers and write on a similar topic. You share your blog posts with one another and begin conversations via a host site. You can head over to Kate Motaung’s page to check out other entries from inspired bloggers. Here’s my five minutes of uninterrupted, unedited writing on this week’s topic:
I’m awakened by a phone call. That’s never a good sign.
My mind races to terrible places in the time it takes me to answer the call.
Who’s sick? What’s wrong?
I can sense it before I even hear a voice on the other end.
A stroke. My Grandpa.
I’m weak as they explain it all. He was rushed to the hospital.
And then I finally exhale as I hear the words, “He seems to be doing okay.”
It’s still news I didn’t want to hear.
My Grandpa (like all my other grandparents) is my hero.
He’s a fighter and he’s strong and he’s going to pull through.
I’m thankful today that we get more time with him.

Hugs and prayers for you and your grandpa x
Hugs and prayers! Those phone calls that awaken us are so hard.
I understand exactly how you feel. When the phone rings at unexpected times one always expects the worst. I hope all is well with your Grandpa.
